Ben’s background is in Materials Engineering having graduated from Swansea University in 2019 with an MSc by research in collaboration with industry. His EngD continued a collaborative approach to research and specialised in advanced manufacturing, polymer science, and circular economy principles. In 2020, he worked with the Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy division at the Welsh Government to develop strategic plans and assessments for a sustainable recovery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He recently joined the University of Surrey as a Research Fellow, where he works in the department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. His industry driven research focus is to transform wasteful chemical engineering technologies to circular ones through techno-economic modelling and life cycle analysis, with a vision to deliver maximum value creation at near zero waste production by unlocking the potential for industrial symbiosis across the chemical sectors.
