Crafting the IDEALL Roadmap: An Inclusive, Diverse and Equal Circular Carbon Economy for ALL
Join our partners on 15th November in Surrey for a Workshop on Crafting the IDEALL Roadmap: An Inclusive, Diverse, and Equal Circular Carbon Economy for ALL.
Context
Reliance on fossil carbon for energy, chemicals, and consumer products is driving climate change. Transitioning to a Circular Carbon Economy (CCE), which reuses and recycles carbon, is key to reducing fossil dependence and fostering sustainable growth. While the environmental benefits of a CCE are well recognised, the social dimensions, such as equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), are often overlooked. Equality, diversity and inclusion should not be afterthoughts, but guiding principles at the core of circular carbon transition strategies.
This workshop builds on sessions from June and July 2024 that explored EDI challenges and opportunities in a circular carbon economy. From these, the project team developed the IDEALL roadmap: a guide to creating an inclusive, diverse, and equal circular carbon economy for all.
Workshop Aim
The aim of this workshop is to gather experts and advocates dedicated to embedding EDI into the sustainable future, in order to collaboratively refine our preliminary circular carbon economy roadmap.
Workshop Objectives
- Hear from EDI advocates and leaders working within the circular carbon sector
- Present the current version of the IDEALL roadmap
- Evaluate the roadmap, identifying risks, barriers, and opportunities for implementation
- Facilitate networking among professionals in carbon economy to foster collaboration and exchange ideas related to EDI
As a thank you for attending, each participant will receive their own copy of the EDI cards to help integrate EDI into other aspects of their work.
