Interdisciplinary Centre for Circular Chemical Economy Launch Event
The UKRI National Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Research (NICER) Programme formally launched on Thursday 27 May 2021. The four day event between 24th – 27th May introduced the five National Interdisciplinary Circular Economy Centres and the Circular Economy Hub (CE-Hub) which together form the NICER Programme
The NICER Programme is the largest UKRI investment focussing on Circular Economy (CE) to date. The £30 million investment supports five National Interdisciplinary Circular Economy research Centres, each focusing on a particular resource flow and an integrating Circular Economy Hub to coordinate, scale and add value to the programme as a whole.
The National Centre for Circular Chemical Economy hosted it’s launch event on the 25th of May. Sir Richard Catlow, inaugurated the event by giving a keynote speech on ‘Science to enable Circular Economy’ which was followed by an engaging roundtable discussion on ‘Circular Economy and Net Zero’ hosted by the Dr Sheena Hindocha from the Knowledge Transfer Network.
